Hello Teams, Parents, and Coaches!
Welcome to the new school year! We hope everyone had a pleasant summer.
Our plan for this school year is to run more events earlier in the calendar; in particular, we are hoping to run two Cal Cup tournaments each semester. We are tentatively planning to run the Bay Area Fall Novice tournament on Sep 27, Cal Cup #1 on Oct 4, and Cal Cup #2 in early/mid November; stay tuned for more details.
Registration is now open for the Sacramento Fall HS tournament, to be held on Saturday, September 13 at Churchill MS in Carmichael (yes, this is a HS tournament taking place at a MS). The Varsity division will feature NAQT IS-240 and the JV division will feature IS-239A. Bay Area teams and middle school teams are welcome to compete; register here. Sacramento-area schools will receive priority in case of a waitlist.
The Sacramento Fall MS tournament will take place on Saturday, October 11 at Churchill MS in Carmichael – expect registration for this event to open this upcoming Tuesday, September 2. The Varsity and JV divisions will both feature NAQT MS #55.
BASIS Silicon Valley will be hosting their ESTUARY Tournament on Saturday, October 18 – this event will be using the GHOST II house-write set (not NAQT). Middle school teams can compete but should be aware that they will be facing high school teams on high school-level questions. More details can be found here.
We are hoping to run the first Bay Area middle school tournament in November or December – please let us know if your school is interested in hosting such an event.
