Welcome to the new California Cup season! Cal Cup #1 will take place on Saturday, October 4 at Dougherty Valley HS in San Ramon. As in previous years, this event will feature three divisions: Competitive, Standard, and Novice. We will be using SHOW-ME Four for Competitive/Standard and ORCUS for Novice [not NAQT]. The initial field cap will be 12 teams for all three divisions – we will expand the field based on interest/staff availability.
We are continuing to offer “the package” that we had in previous years – teams can play all four tournaments for the price of three. Cal Cup #2 is the deadline for signing up for the package. In addition, teams have until Cal Cup #2 if they wish to back-out of purchasing the package.

(2) Cal Cup #2 will take place on Saturday, November 1 at Dougherty Valley – we plan to use NAQT sets for this event. Teams that wish to qualify for HSNCT should play in the Competitive division at this event. Registration for Cal Cup #2 will open soon after the conclusion of Cal Cup #1.
(3) We have started a waitlist for both divisions for the Sat, Sep 27 Bay Area Fall Novice tournament @ Menlo. Teams that are in the field are reminded to please post a roster and indicate how many buzzer(s)/staff your school is providing. Jeff can provide volunteer hours for student staffers as long as there does not exist a non-profit requirement.
