(In-person!) Cal Cup #3 registration is now open

We are pleased to announce that Cal Cup #3 will take place on Saturday, February 12 at Saint Francis in Mountain View; we’d like to thank SF coach Mei Yang for her assistance during this process. Saint Francis asks for strict masking when inside and reasonable social distancing when eating outside. In addition, the school requests that large numbers of people do not congregate in the inside Commons area.

We are using DART II for Competitive and RAFT III for Standard and Novice. Please be aware that the set we are using for Competitive is challenging and is geared towards teams that wish to play at high school nationals. In addition, the set we are using for Novice is harder than a typical novice set.

A reminder about the “Churchill Rule”: If a middle school registers several teams we will place 2 in the field and the rest on the waitlist. In addition, Saint Francis would like to reiterate that middle school teams should be accompanied by an adult chaperone at all times.

The initial field cap will be 16 for Competitive and 12 each for Standard/Novice; we will expand the field if we can secure enough staff.

New: If a middle school registers several teams we will place 2 in the field and the rest on the waitlist. We want to prioritize high school teams (since this is a high school tournament). Let’s call it the Churchill Rule 🙂
